Tackle Football Weight Rules – PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY

  • The league we participate in has weight restrictions to determine eligibility for carrying the ball. These rules are intended to keep the game as safe as possible for all players.
  • Below are the league rules regarding weight limits.
    • Ball Carriers: Players exceeding the below weights, may NOT carry the ball offensively.
      • 3rd Grade -- 100 lbs
      • 4th Grade -- 110 lbs
      • 5th Grade -- 120 lbs
      • 6th Grade -- 130 lbs
      • Coaches are responsible for enforcing this rule in a fair and ethical manner. Coaches are to weigh the players (No Pads) prior to the first game to determine which players are eligible to carry the ball offensively. The results of this weigh-in are to be utilized for the entire season.
